Chris will share ideas for making scrap quilts in her lecture entitled “Compost Quilts”

MARCH
|
10 – Strip Party
Get ready for a party! Guild members will bring 2 ½” wide fabric strips to exchange with other members, thus increasing the variety in their own stash. Each participant should strip, at a minimum, one yard of fabric. Fabric needs to be quilt shop quality and washed. Please cut your strips – no tearing. Three or four categories will be designated for this strip party.

APRIL
|
14 – Susan Stewart
Susan will give a lecture on heirloom quilts. The afternoon workshop is entitled “Sharks’s Teeth”. It will involve a small project in which a technique will be learned that is interesting and different. The technique can be used on heirloom quilts as well as more traditional things. |
12 – Lynn Greer
“No Naked Doll Beds” is the title of Lynn ’s lecture on miniature quilts. Machine appliqué will be the focus of her afternoon workshop.

JUNE

9 – Jo Morton
Jo will present her popular lecture “Decorating with Small Quilts”. The afternoon workshop will involve hand piecing the LeMoyne Star. “Starry Night” is the title of the Tuesday workshop where members will learn new machine piecing and pressing skills to complete this project.

|
14 – Kathy Delaney
Kathy will aid members in solving the color mystery in her presentation entitled “The Mystery of Color Solved”. The Monday afternoon workshop will introduce members to easy trapunto. Tuesday’s workshop is entitled “Mariner’s Compass is our Friend”. This workshop will offer information on drafting and machine construction of the Mariner’s Compass.

AUGUST
|
11 – Lerlene Nevaril
Lerlene will share creative ideas on enhancing the back of your quilt in her morning lecture entitled “Make Your Quilt Back Special”. The afternoon workshop will be on “Adding Pieced Backs” to your quilts. Bring a quilt top along with leftover fabric, sample backs, panels, ufos, etc. Make an exciting back for your quilt using the elements you have.

The morning lecture is entitled “From the Beginning Album as a Quilter”. An afternoon workshop will enlighten quilters on drafting appliqué patterns. “Magical Medallions” is the title of the Tuesday workshop.
